PDF stuck on “Please wait…”?

That message means the PDF is an XFA form and your viewer can't display it. Your file isn't broken, and it isn't your computer. Drop it below to open it right now, or read on for the full explanation.

What the message means

The full message reads: “Please wait… If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.” It's a placeholder page stored inside every XFA form. Adobe Reader replaces it with the real form, and most other viewers can't.

Your options

  1. Open it here: works in any modern browser, on desktop and mobile, with nothing to install.
  2. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader on a Windows or Mac computer: download the file, then open it from the Reader app, not from your browser.
  3. Use Firefox on a computer: its built-in PDF viewer supports many XFA forms.
